Ambitious director Carl Denham recruits struggling actress Ann Darrow and writer Jack Driscoll for a mysterious voyage to Skull Island. There, they encounter savage natives and prehistoric monsters ruled by Kong, a towering gorilla. After Kong captures Ann, a rescue mission turns into tragedy when Denham brings the beast to New York.
